My 300th Post!

First of all, I really want to post more than I do. I guess it boils down to doing other stuff. You know, B, Charley (poor Mike bringing up the rear) laundry, sewing, Pinterest. But I do want to talk more about our comings and goings. But in the interest of my constituents, here are some pictures to keep you interested.





Charley is talking so much more! She is even saying things spontaneously. Yak, backpack, tiger. It is very exciting when it happens. She is babbling more too. Just little sounds here and there. And she is doing much better in school, you know, now that summer school is over and there is a break before the regular school starts. And the potty training is pretty much done. She has some bad days. But she diaper free 24 hours a day. It is wonderful!









B, well, B is B. Making zoos, loving to be outside. Asking to go swimming every day. She is feisty and a know-it-all about animals. And she tells you what she wants, when she wants it. Ahhh!!! She is one of a kind, but such a cuddly little-big girl. Always with the kisses and hugs. Oh and we lost her glasses, below are her new ones.













Me, well, I turned 40 on August 2nd (don't expect any actual pictures of me. YIKES, I am 40 you know). It was a good day. Mike treated me for a couple of days before and both he and my sister got me great things. Mike gave me a new camera, a micro DLSR. I love it. My skills aren't any better, most of my pictures aren't good, but they are sharper and clearer.

What else? No much. I am making Tinker Bell costumes for the girls and I have a stack of fabric for some fall/winter.

What else is there? I am going to try and take more pictures with my new camera (can you tell, I love it? Mike doesn't usually buy me presents, but when he does, they are great. Silhouette, the camera, ice cream maker, robo grip). I really want to post more. I think of stuff to say, like why I was able to potty train Charley at an early age - we didn't give up, despite any messes. Or, a picture of my favorite things (the yellow sandals I had on Thursday). I feel like I am not posting all the stuff I want to remember. Cross my fingers I will be better. Of course, every morning I say I will be a better parent, then before my second cup of tea is done, I am yelling at someone to finally put on their shoes.

New Arrivals at Crewcuts

Last week J. Crew added some new items to their Crewcuts line.  I am not sure what B really needs for summer but her are some things I would love to get her.

There are many other crewcut items I want.  But I need a plan, so I have  little outfits that go together.  Of course it may not matter what I buy, B likes to wear what she wants.

B's Thursday Outfit

This is what B picked to wear today.  I am not a huge fan of navy pants - kind of catholic school uniform, but I rolled up the bottom a la Crewcuts and it helped.  Perfect since this is a Crewcuts outfit.  Hat, shirt and pants.  Those are her new Saucony gym shoes she got the other day.  The hat came today.  B has been wearing my husband's baseball hats, so I finally ordered her one of her own.  B has a peanut head, so it is a little big.  Now, if I can find a girly baseball hat, all will be well.

My problem when I buy clothes - for both B and myself- is I don't buy with an out fit in mind.  I look at the cute "Looks we Love" at on Crewcuts website and think "why doesn't B look that put together?"  And it's because I buy like I place stuff on the blog, without a care how B will wear the item.  My husband has helped me out, making me buy stuff together.  Now he needs to help with B.  We are going to Oakbrook this weekend, maybe I'll return the huge dresses and get cute little outfits.  

UPS brings a J.Crew box

Sunday night I placed a J. Crew order with free shipping.   I hate to pay shipping charges.  I think if you spend over a certain amount, they should give you free shipping automatically - especially if it's not sale merchandise.  So, got free shipping.  And, the order came quickly.  Yeah!!  I ordered a bunch of Crewcuts for B,  a couple different pairs of shorts for me and an orange shirt, and a pair of shorts for my husband.  

I am happy with B's stuff on the whole.  The Solid Cotton Babydoll dresses one in strawberry and one in striped misty lavender, look HUGE. (You can view the photos in this previous post)  I ordered a 3 or small because the x-small dresses from last year are too small.  I can't try them on B because she is asleep.  The size 3 or small Papaya Patchwork Camp Dress  should fit and is so cute.  Here are some photos of other things I ordered.

B will not want to try anything on, I just know it.  I am know waiting on my Boden/Mini Boden order.  Coming from England, I probably won't get it for awhile.
