Charlie Plays Peek-A-Boo With B and Mike

Charlie has been enjoying peekaboo for a long time now. Before, she just thought us saying "boo" was the funny part. Now she loves the actual hiding part, so much that last night after dinner, she got in on the act herself. Mike and B were her encouragement. She would never have done it for me. She would have sat in her high chair whining until I held her.

She really did it all by herself, with no
help from B or Mike or me.

B kept trying to get between the camera and
Charlie, nothing like a little jealousy between sisters.
YIKES!

B got a hold of my camera.

Weekend Events

It was a pretty quiet weekend. Well sort of. I complained a lot that there our house is too small for all our stuff. Then I ordered more shoes. Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. How could I pass that up? Regardless, we need to get rid of stuff and organize the rest. Yes, I sing this song often. We must need to get rid of more. Like broken little plastic toys, oh and maybe some of my stuff too. I have a lot of bags lying around. Everyday diaper bag (a boat tote). A zoo diaper bag (smaller and lighter). The pool bag. B's school bag. All sitting by the door. I need help.

Not a lot of photos. Charlie eating ribs and all of us chalk painting. How did I make the paint? Check out this website. What else did we do this weekend? Swimming lessons and swimming in the pool. Mike worked on his car. Not much else, too hot. Oh, Charlie is doing a lot of pulling up and tonight, she stood up buy herself in the bath. Yes, freaked me out. Mike too. He walked in just as she did it. Now watch, she won't walk until she is a year and a half.

Charlie enjoying her ribs. I make good ribs.
Check out my recipe here.

She really just gnawed on the bone.

This is a photo of B eating ribs in Hayward. She is
10 months old.

B and Charlie really don't look alike. They are
similar. B has more hair and a rounder face.
But they are both cute. Can you tell I am their mother?

Our chalk painting studio.

B painted a cake.

Charlie's Doctor Appointment and She Pulls Herself Up

We went to the pediatrician today for Charlie's six month well visit. She got her first vaccine. WAH! That was me, not her. Anyway. She is 27.75 inches long and 18 lbs 4 ounces. She is a long one. Everything else was good.

Yesterday she was out on the front porch with Mike and B and she pulled herself up on the ottoman. Seriously. And, while she isn't crawling in a traditional sense, she gets around. Sometimes quicker than you think she should. It is a combination of crawling, scooting and walking with her hands on the ground. Strange. But, her main interest is in standing. Today I pulled out B's old cube and Charlie pulled herself right up. Enjoy the photos.

Butterfly and Watermelon Fun, Just Not On The Same Day

B Says "These Tomatoes are Good."

And I say, then why don't you eat the whole thing.

This is the mess she left on the counter for me to find.

We Had Waffles This Morning And Blueberry Ice Pops Last Week

B likes waffles for breakfast. Instead of home making them every day, I make extra and freeze them. Today I lucked out and it was not a school morning, so it was a little easier. And, guess who else likes waffles?

Yes, it is Charlie.

I cut the waffle into sticks. I don't know how
much she ate, but she liked making a mess with it.

Sitting at the island with big sister B.

Who likes her waffles with butter and occasionally
cinnamon honey.

That is B's tea cup. She likes her green tea
with a straw.

B enjoyed the home made pops, not Charlie.

That would have been an even bigger mess.

I made the ice pops for a little demonstration I did at B's school. I showed them how to make blueberry ice pops, cantaloupe sorbet and blackberry lemonade. YUM!

This Just In! Charlie (Barely) Has A Tooth

That is the news. No photo. Chuckles has a bottom tooth on the right side. Again, barely. Can't see it, just can feel it. It is sharp. Bad for me.

Charlie is Six Months Old Today, Plus Some Other Photos

Here is a round up of the last week or so. I really need to take more pictures. We went to Lee's for the Fourth. No pictures. Mike's sister Kate's on the Third. No pictures. Swimming yesterday at the local pool. No pictures. Grandma's on Friday, well you get the picture.

Still, I do have some, so enjoy my cute kids.

B is chasing after bubbles. We blew
some big ones.

Blew some big ones, ha, ha.

Charlie sat on the front porch watching
and trying to grab any bubbles that came her way.

Here is where B got a hold of the camera.

B helped give Charlie a bath in the sink.

We washed the chlorine off her.

Here is Chuck enjoying some pizza crust.

She also had some cucumber spears. These
gave her a gassy tummy.

Here are Charlie's six month pictures. This is at
B's train table. I put her there. It is too high for
her to reach. But she is pulling herself up my hands.

She is very pleased with herself.

Look at that little smile. I think she likes
different perspectives. But hey, what do
I know, I am not a mind reader.

She is chunking up.

Her thighs are getting meaty.
Is she crawling yet, you ask? No, no, no. Is it killing me?
Yes. Will she ever crawl? I don't know. Now all she
wants to do is stand up. Instead of getting up on her
hands and knees, she is getting on her hands and feet.
That is not to say she isn't getting around. I am not
sure how she does it, but she isn't crawling.

B riding the hoppy horse, horning in
on Charlie's photo session.

Funny how I laugh even though she
is driving me crazy.

B needs more sleep (yes, who doesn't).
It stays light late and she won't
go to sleep until it is dark.

Here, she fell off dramatically. No,
she is not crying. She is laughing.
